There’s Now a Small Wacom Intuos Pro Again For Designers & Artists on The Move

Wacom has reintroduced a smaller version of its Intuos Pro graphics tablet for designers and artists on smaller budgets – or who want something portable to take with them to freelance gigs, coffee shops, client meetings or elsewhere.

Wacom’s pro-level graphics tablets used to come in three sizes: Small, Medium and Large – with drawing areas roughly equivalent to A5, A4 and A3. At the last refresh, the range was condensed to Medium and Large – though Wacom did introduce a Paper Edition of both that allows you to draw on paper to create digital drawings. Read our guide to the best drawing tablets.

Now Small is back. And while it has the same drawing area of 160x100mm, when you include the ‘bezel’ and buttons, it’s substantially smaller than the previous Small model.

The Intuos Pro Small has many of the same features as the Medium and Large models currently available – though there’s no Paper Edition. It uses Wacom’s Pro Pen 2, which allows for 8,096 levels of pressure sensitivity – and there’s full multi-touch support for gestural control too.

There’s a TouchRing for adjusting brush sizes, sliders and gradients – plus six ExpressKey buttons (compared to eight on the Medium and Large models) for quickly triggering shortcuts without needing to touch your computer’s keyboard.

The Wacom Intuous Pro Small connects to your Mac or Windows PC wirelessly, and can be charged using USB-C.

As with the larger models, the Intuos Pro Small supports the additional pens you can buy, including the Pro Pen 3D for 3D artists and the Apple Pencil-like Pro Pen Slim.

You can buy the Intuos Pro Small from Wacom or Amazon around the world – plus Best Buy and B&H Photo in the US. Be careful if searching for it, as the older version is still available on the likes of Amazon and elsewhere – check the specs, if it supports only 2,092 levels of pressure support then it’s the older model.
